Randy Kiessel

Randy is a veteran investment professional with over 30 years of experience in the securities industry. His areas of expertise include investment consultation and advice with an emphasis on financial planning, portfolio management and estate planning services. Randy works closely with individuals, family units and foundations to formulate and establish detailed financial goals and implement the investment strategies to achieve them.

Prior to joining the investment industry, Randy worked as a Certified Public Accountant. He has a BS in Accounting and Finance from Northern Michigan University. He opened the Traverse City Baird office in 1995 and was instrumental in the establishment of the PIM Program at Baird. Randy was Director of Prudential Securities Training Department in New York.

Randy is a charter member of the Traverse City Economic Club and has served as secretary/treasurer and president and is currently serving as Treasurer of the Northwestern Michigan College Foundation Board. For the past eight years, Randy has attended Baird's Investment Consultants Program held at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Randy is an active member of Rotary International, working with at-risk children locally as well as in countries such as Nigeria, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malawi and South Africa.

Randy has three grown children and resides in Traverse City.

Kurt Rivard, CFA

Kurt brings over 32 years of industry experience to Baird and is an investment specialist with a comprehensive background in asset allocation, portfolio management and the wealth management process.

Prior to joining Baird’s Traverse City office in 2002, Kurt served as a Managing Director and the Director of Research and Analytics for Baird in its corporate offices in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kurt’s responsibilities included developing the firm’s economic and market strategy, equity, fixed income and mutual fund research, as well as responsibility for separate account management research, financial and estate planning and private investment management. He served as Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee and was a member of the Investment Advisory Oversight Committee and the Stock Selection Committee.

Kurt spent 17 years as a research equity analyst and was recognized in the Reuters Survey in 1998 and 1999, and as a Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst in 1999. He received his charter from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts in 1986. Kurt is a member of the CFA Institute, and is a past officer and director of the Twin Cities Society of Security Analysts and Milwaukee Investment Analysts Society. He is a current member of the CFA West Michigan Society. Kurt has a BA in Financial Administration and Insurance from Michigan State University. Kurt has completed Baird's Investment Consultants Program held at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Kurt is a member of the Rotary Club of Traverse City and is actively involved in local hockey, sailing and land conservancy organizations. In addition, his family has hosted international exchange students from multiple programs.

Carly Ellis, CFP®

Senior Client Specialist

Carly supports the Kiessel Rivard Group with over 19 years of industry experience and has worked at Baird for 16 years.

Client satisfaction is her top priority, consistent with Baird's mission to provide the best advice and service to it's clients.

She received a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, currently holds her Series 7, 6, 63, and insurance licenses and obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification in 2011.

Carly and her husband, Dan live in Traverse city with their two children. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys boating and being on the water, photography, and skiing.

Tracy Raz, CFP®

Assistant Vice President

Tracy supports the Kiessel Rivard Group with over 20 years of industry experience. Over her tenure with Baird she has won several service awards including the most prestigious award given by Baird; the G. Frederick Kasten Jr. Award.

Tracy received a bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting from Grand Valley State University and spent eight years in the private business sector before joining Baird. She is Series 7,9,10, 63, 66, insurance & real estate licensed.

Tracy has four grown children and resides in Acme with her husband Bruce. Her hobbies include gardening, nature photography, travel & genealogy. She also enjoys community service and currently serves as as a Board Member for The Botanic Garden Society at Historic Barns Park and has been an active member since year 2000. Tracy is also a proud lifetime member of the NW MI Descendants of the Mayflower.
