Gordon Owens, Jr., CFP®, CIMA®, CPWA®, CMT

  • Graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Arts degree
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®): This certification is issued by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. This certification is for individuals who have met the education requirement, passed the certification examination, completed at least three years of qualifying full-time work experience and passed a Fitness Standards and Background Check. This program covers a wide array of topics including general principles of financial planning, insurance planning and risk management, employee benefits planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning.
  • Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMATM): This certification is issued by the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and is for individuals who have three or more years of financial management experience and who will participate in 40 hours of continued education every two years. This program covered topics relating to investment policy, asset allocation, risk management, beta coefficients, historical returns, duration and convexity, international financial markets, measuring return on a portfolio, performance measurement and attribution, due diligence and manager selection, legal and regulatory environment, and ethics.
  • Alternative Investments Certificate: The Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) partnered with The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to offer this certificate to Certified Investment Management Analysts (CIMATM ). This Certificate moves beyond CIMA credential and into the advanced details of hedge funds, venture capital, real estate, manager selection, regulatory issues, and ethics.
  • Certified Wealth Advisor (CPWATM): The Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) partnered with the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business to offer this designation. The CPWATM designation facilitates an advanced expertise in the accumulation, preservation, protection, and distribution of wealth. This program was designed for experienced financial advisors who work with high net worth clients.
  • Charted Market Technician (CMT): This designation is administered by the Accreditation Committee of the Market Technicians Association (MTA), Inc. The program consists of three levels and is the culmination of a certification process in which candidates are required to demonstrate proficiency in a broad range of technical analysis of the financial markets. It is made up of an educational component, an experience requirement, an ethics requirement and a membership requirement.

Meade Owens, CPA, PFS, CIMA®, CPWA®

  • Graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting
  • Masters of Business Administration from Florida State University
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA): The license is available through the State Board of Accountancy. In order to obtain this designation, one must meet the education requirements, pass a four part examination, and meet the experience requirement. In order to maintain the CPA license, an individual must complete 80 hours of continuing professional education every two years. The examination covers topics including auditing, business concepts, tax regulations and financial accounting.
  • Personal Financial Specialist (PFS): This designation is available through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation covers the areas of estate, tax, retirement, risk management and investment planning as it relates to individuals, families and business owners. In order to obtain this designation, you must have a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. A Personal Financial Specialist must have at least three years of financial planning experience, and submit recommendations before certification.
