The Qualified Plan Consulting GroupThe Sommersberger Group is part of Baird's Qualified Plan Consulting Group (QPCG), which is an exclusive collaboration of Financial Advisor teams who have dedicated their businesses to retirement plan clients. Qualified plan consultation is a highly specialized field requiring years of experience and depth of expertise. Baird takes an approach unique from other firms to serve this niche of consulting. We recognize that special knowledge of and dedication to the qualified plan field is paramount to the quality of our services and the success of our clients’ plans. To meet that need, the QPCG was created.
Membership requires:Teamwork. Due to the complex nature of qualified plan consulting, the complimentary skills of team members best suit needed services
Attainment of the QPFC designation. Offered though the American Society of Pension Professional and Actuaries (ASPPA)
Extensive years in the field.
Annual education. Including both stringent in-house and external continuing education requirements
The Qualified Plan Consulting Group includes only 3% of all advisors at Baird.
A Word about the QPFCAs a result of diligent research, Baird has recommended the attainment of the Qualified Plan Financial Consultant designation for all Qualified Plan Consulting Group members.
Developed by the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, (ASPPA), the preeminent industry organization for the private retirement plan system, and the University of Michigan, the Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC) program provides an in-depth understanding of retirement planning concepts, terminology, distinctive features of qualified plans and the roles of retirement plan professionals. To earn this credential, one must demonstrate a proficiency in the knowledge of plan administration, compliance, investments, fiduciary, and ethics issues.
The QPFC is a comprehensive education and examination program that requires completion of continuing education courses to maintain the credential.
This designation is required of Qualified Plan Consulting Group members as well as all internal Retirement Plan Consulting associates at Baird.
