Michael Bishop, CFP®
Mike joined Baird's Racine office in 1993. His areas of specialty include investment consultation and advice with an emphasis on financial planning and comprehesive wealth management. In regards to his approach to investing, Michael says, "My investment philosophy is to work in partnership with my clients in order to establish a long-term, disciplined investment policy that balances risk and return through a combination of income and growth investments."
Mike's number one priority is to develop quality, long-term, and informative relationships with both individuals and businesses throughout the Racine area, while helping them achieve their financial goals. "My relationship with my clients is one of an overal financial advisor who customizes an investment strategy that is specifically tailored to each client's goals."
Mike earned his BS in Business from the University of Wisconsin Parkside and is a lifelong resident of Racine. He is active in his community as a board member of the Kiwanis Club of Racine and also sits on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundion's Leadership Board. An avid sport enthusiast, his favorite leisure time activities are tennis and fishing. If Mike looks familiar, it may be that you have seen him around Racine at one of his gigs disguised as Elvis.

Trust is the key element in any successful advisor/client relationship. "That is why it is of utmost importance that I earn my clients' trust," says Chris when asked to describe his professional approach as he works with individuals and organizations to pursue their financial goals. Chris maintains that communication is vital when working with his clients. Educating, listening, and addressing concerns are keys to building a long-term relationship. Prior to joining Baird in 2001, Chris worked for nearly 12 years in various positions in the accounting field; including an Internal Auditor, Financial Analyst, and Accounting Manager.
Chis is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his BBA in Accounting. He is an active member in the Racine community, where he and his wife, Krista, have lived for over 15 years. He is a current board member and Chairman of the Racine YMCA. He is also a past board member and current committe member for the United Way of Racine and a Junior Achievement of Wisconsin board member. An avid tennis player, Chris is also the founder of an annual tennis outing to benefit All Saints Hospital of Racine. He also serves on several hospital committees.

Kay joined Baird in 1993 as a Registered Sales Associate, and has worked for over 35 years in the investment and banking industries. In addition, she has extensive experience with annuity products, and holds a Wisconsin insurance license as well as several securities licenses.
“I adhere to the Baird Doctrine that integrity is irreplaceable and plays a large part in helping achieve client satisfaction,” Kay says. “I believe in the Baird credo that clients come first and that quality of service is my measure of success.”
Kay attended St. Catherine's High School and the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. As a way to give back to the community, she spends time volunteering for various charitable and non-profit organizations. Currently, she serves on the St. Joseph Parish Finance Council, as Vice President of the Racine Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors and recently was a member of the Planning Committee for the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints Foundation Kentucky Derby Gala.
A lifelong Racine resident, Kay enjoys spending time with her family, singing and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
Tara joined The Bishop Leberfing Group in April of 2013 and currently holds both a Series 7 and 66 license. In June of 2016, she received her Accident, Health & Life Insurance licenses. She previously worked as an assistant to the Private Wealth Management team at Johnson Bank. Her work history also includes event/meeting coordination.
Tara is a lifetime Racine resident and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School. She went on to the University of Wisconsin Whitewater to earn a dual BBA in Accounting and Marketing with a minor in Legal Studies.
Tara and her husband have two boys, Dominic and Lincoln. She enjoys running, reading and spending time with her nieces and nephew.
