John Lipe, CFP®
John brings over 15 years of experience in client advising, having joined Baird in February 2013, after moving from Smith Barney/Morgan Stanley where he began his career as a Financial Advisor. Before that, he served as a senior scientist and project manager for Environmental Services, Inc. in Destin, Florida.
John’s focus is managing the financial affairs of clients who do not have the time or otherwise have access to Baird’s extensive resources to do so themselves. His panoramic and highly customized approach to wealth management combines the three core areas of advanced planning, investment management consulting, and working closely with clients’ legal and tax advisors. John’s primary goal is to build relationships with his clients and to make a meaningful difference in their lives and those of their families.
John, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, was named one of the 2018 and 2019 FORBES America’s Top Next-Gen Advisors. On Wall Street recognized John in 2020 as one of forty top advisors under age forty, and in 2021 he was named a FORBES Best-in-State Wealth Advisor. John is an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and Duke University and he earned a certificate from the McIntire Business Institute of the University of Virginia. Outside of the office, he is an active member of the local Woodberry and Duke alumni boards, receiving a 2015 Forever Duke Award for his exceptional volunteer service to Duke. In his spare time, John enjoys music, ACC athletics, fitness, and his active Irish Red and White Setter, Riley.
