Bob has managed portfolios since 1979, when he began his career with Blyth Eastman Dillon. He then joined Cable, Howse and Ragen in 1983 as one of three retail brokers. In 1987, the firm was incorporated into Ragen Mackenzie, went public in 1998, and was purchased as a wholly owned subsidiary by Wells Fargo in 1999. In 2010 the Strong Group joined MWR which merged with Baird in 2014. A research intensive approach has always been at the heart of Bob’s business which is why he was attracted to MWR and subsequently, Baird.
Bob was born and raised in Seattle. He attended Occidental College and graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in English. Bob has served on several boards. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Seattle Art Museum where he has been a Trustee since 1996, serving as Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee and at present, Chair of the Investment Committee. He continues to serve on the Council of the Museum Development Authority to which he was appointed in 2009. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Rainier Scholars.
Director, Financial Advisor
Will joined Bob at Ragen Mackenzie in 2008, after working at Wells Fargo in San Francisco as a financial analyst. Will enjoys the challenges of the investment management business and is driven to provide high quality investment advice and support to his clients.
Will graduated from Trinity College in 2006 with a B.S. in Environmental Science. He is currently Co-President of Northwest Children’s Foundation.
Financial Advisor, Vice President
Scott joined the Strong Group in 2019. His career in investment management and financial services began in 2006 as a financial advisor with Lehman Brothers in New York. Over the past 16 years he has worked on a number of high-performing teams including the financial sponsors group at BMO Capital Markets. Most recently Scott was a Senior Manager with Brighton Jones, a Seattle-based RIA, focused on providing multi-family office solutions to a select group of ultra-high net worth clients.
Scott graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in Economics and from Cornell University with a Masters of Business Administration.
Josh Gray, CFA
Josh holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and joined the Strong Group in 2014. Before working at Baird, Josh was the head of Corporate Bond Trading at McAdams Wright Ragen, and prior to that he worked in the Equity Research Department. He is passionate about the value investing approach and employs fundamental credit analysis to assist the group when researching securities.
Josh graduated from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Before attending UW, he spent five years as a helicopter mechanic in the United States Marines Corps and served two tours of duty in Iraq.
Sissi Sondgroth, CFP®
Assistant Vice President, PWM Financial Planner
Sissi has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry. She started her career in 2004 on the Equity Trading Desk of Wells Fargo Investments and later took an associate role with Ragen Mackenzie in 2007. Sissi moved to McAdams Wright Ragen in 2010 and joined the Strong Group in 2014. Her proactive approach to service, combined with her dedication to clients, is integral to the Strong Group’s client-first approach. Sissi holds a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation and work closely with clients to help them identify and reach their financial goals.
Sissi graduated from the University of Washington in 2004 with a B.A. in Political Economy.
Geneva started her career at Baird in March 2016 as a Front Office Administrator. She joined The Strong Group in October 2016 as a Client Specialist where her focus is to provide operational support to the team and their clients. She holds the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.
Geneva grew up in Chelan, Washington and moved to Seattle in 2007 to attend the University of Washington. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2011.
Janeth was born and raised in Mexico where she graduated with a Law Degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua in 2011. She moved to the United States in 2014 and has been in Seattle since 2020. Currently, Janeth is studying to obtain her FINRA Series 7 & Series 66 licenses.
